Kennsington High Street Crown Office, London W8.

Originally this office was sited at 257 Kennsington High Street but is now at 208-212 which is just about opposite the old office. The old office only had one kiosk present and items produced by this office had the office ident 011006. The current office has two kiosks. The office ident is now 012006.

I visited the office at 208-212 on the 10th July 2010 and the items obtained from both kiosks.

Kiosk 1 receipts had no address while kiosk 2 had the address in upper case lettering and the building number on a separate line. Kiosk 1 was vending sheep stamps while kiosk 2 was vending pigs. Session numbers for both kiosks on the 10 July 2012 may be obtained from the images above.

I hope to add further entries giving details of items obtained from various Wincor-Nixdorf offices. In this way, I hope the evidence that I am producing will assist collectors of this material. I would welcome feedback and data on session numbers, stamps vended, errors and varieties, problems, etc at any and all offices throughout the UK. Either add a comment to this site or e-mail me at pmechuk@gmail.com.

More Little Piggies

Stardate: 030512

Further to the blog of 27th April, J. Gray has forwarded more information of examples of the Pigs with font 1 at a number of post offices. This data is listed below and will be included in my other sites in due course.

In addition, the large font was available on Friday 27 April from both machines in Clapham High Street PO (005008-1 and -2), but machine 2 produced only single stamps (i.e. the collectors strips of 2 x 3 stamps were produced as 6 single stamps!). Machine 1 produced the normal strips. On eBay, one can see that Bath (015504-2), Harrow (022020-2) and Bognor Regis (017937-1) all produced pigs stamps with the large font 1 and the other associated errors. The printing on the Bath machine is very poor quality, but the spacing between the lines of print increases slightly on each Worldwide up to 10g stamp in a strip, resulting in what has been described as a falling font error (see eBay item 380432844951).

Further reports of these and other variations to pmechuk@gmail.com, please.

Next faststamp issue will be on the 24th May 2012. One stamp showing the union flag be issued. Reports on any variations in these would also be welcome.

This Little Piggy...

Stardate:270412

Tuesday the 24th April say the issue of yet another new set of Faststamps from Royal Mail. This set is the second of the Farmyard animals theme and depicts six different pigs. Examples from kiosk 1 at Trafalgar Square/William IV Street (015010) post office are illustrated below. Also on this date Aldwych (008010) and Broadway (010011) offices in London were also vending the pigs from all kiosks.

St Albans (010033) threw up a nice surprise on the 25th April with font 1 appearing on the pig Faststamps.

Note that Hytec versions of these faststamps are available in presentation packs.

I would welcome further reports of these and other Witncor and Hytec faststamps and PAGs.
